The International University Clubs of Toronto are glad to invite Penn-Wharton alumni for an evening with Ian Brooks, Founder and Managing Director of Hello Fresh Canada, who will present on the topic of:

Disruptive forces in food-tech startup

A meal kit is a subscription service that sends customers food ingredients and recipes for them to prepare their own fresh meals. As of July 2017, according to Time Magazine, the meal kit business was estimated to be USD$2.2 billion globally.

Short Bio of Ian Brooks
Ian Brooks founded HelloFresh Canada in early 2016 as the Canadian operation of the global leader in meal kits, Berlin-based HelloFresh SE. Ian started his career in Calgary as an environmental consultant, and has since lived and worked in Zurich, London, and lately Toronto, as an IT project manager with Scotiabank, a strategic sourcing professional with Johnson & Johnson, and a management consultant with McKinsey & Company. He has an MBA from IMD. He is married with two young boys, and his family happily eats HelloFresh six nights a week.

How to get here?

The University Club is on the west side of University avenue between Queen street and Dundas street. There is a parking garage and a Green-P parking lot on Simcoe Street (behind the University Club - one street west of University avenue).

The closest subway station is St. Patrick's.
